Licensing Structure #
The Cloud7 licensing structure is designed to provide a flexible and cost-effective solution for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Licensing is based on the number of Virtual Machines (VMs) managed through the Cloud7 platform, regardless of the specifications or attached storage of those VMs.
Cloud7 supports multiple cloud platforms, including OpenStack, VMware, and Huawei Cloud Stack, and the licensing model applies uniformly across all these platforms. Each VM managed through Cloud7 counts as a single license, simplifying the licensing process by not factoring in the VM specifications or storage attached, nor the overall cloud stack capacity.
This approach ensures that CSPs only pay for the VMs they actively manage and charge their customers for, avoiding costs associated with unsold capacity.
Advance Subscription Model #
The licensing structure supports both monthly and annual subscriptions paid in advance, offering CSPs flexibility in managing their cloud resources.
CSPs can start with a specific volume of VM licenses and have the option to choose between a monthly subscription for short-term flexibility or an annual subscription for longer-term stability and potential cost savings. This advance subscription model ensures that CSPs can align their licensing costs directly with their revenue-generating resources.
Scaling & Adjustments #
CSPs can subscribe to an initial volume of VM licenses based on their anticipated needs and can easily scale up as demand grows. As the need for additional VMs arises, CSPs can request to increase the number of VM licenses, allowing for seamless scaling and ensuring that additional VMs can be brought online without disruption.
This flexible growth model accommodates CSP expansion, enabling easy adjustments to the number of licenses in response to changing customer demands and market conditions. By adopting this licensing strategy, Cloud7 ensures that CSPs can efficiently manage their costs while scaling their cloud services in line with customer demand and market growth, providing a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective cloud management solution.
